Director of Project Management

REPORTS TO: Company President

FLSA STATUS: Exempt, fulltime

Job Summary: The Director of Project Management has the primary responsibility for daily supervision of the Project Manager Department. Customer contact, scheduling product deliveries, adhering to predetermined project timelines during the manufacturing phase of a project. The ability to multi-task in a fast paced proto-type manufacturing environment is required. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.


  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Responsibility for all project documentation
  • Research questions related to the fabrication, welding, painting and assembly of customer projects. Communicate answers to shop floor personnel
  • Coordinate delivery of outsourced components with the purchasing department to ensure vendor supplied parts are delivered in a timely manner
  • Act as a primary focal point for customer contact during the manufacturing phase of a project
  • Monitor manufacturing progress against predetermined time line milestones and advise management personnel of time line changes and ECO’s that take place during the course of a project
  • Create shop floor work orders and properly structure Bills of Material (BOM) to reflect raw material assignments for in-house work or outsourcing sequences followed by in-house machining / welding / assembly / paint
  • Ensure DXF files are created for laser and burn tables
  • Knowledge of raw material and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of Global Shop, Microsoft products, Blueprint reading, 2D & 3D software
  • Approval process for daily time sheets
  • Developing employee performance review documentation
  • Documenting any work place related injuries and communicating with Safety Director
  • Employee Timeforce Approvals


  • Ability to interact with Engineering, Mfg Operations, Sales, Clients and Quality is vital


  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Post High School education and equivalent training to position Years of experience
  • Three years of Project Manager experience


Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be acceptable.
